The tribute to legendary fashion designers Giorgio Armani and Valentino Garavani will be among the special initiatives of the Los Angeles Italia Festival 2026. On March 13, at the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles, just hours before the Academy Awards ceremony, a special tribute video by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana dedicated to the two absolute icons of Made in Italy will be presented.
In the video, CNMI President Carlo Capasa recounts the extraordinary journey of the two masters, revisiting the images of their awards at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan during the Gala della Moda – CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards: Valentino, honored by Sophia Loren, and Giorgio Armani, celebrated by Cate Blanchett, in symbolic moments reflecting the elegance and global influence of Italian fashion.
Armani and Valentino have dressed generations of Hollywood stars, playing a central role in major film ceremonies and glamorous red-carpet events. The initiative of the Los Angeles Italia Festival, promoted by the Istituto Capri nel Mondo, highlights the deep connection between cinema and fashion.
The 2026 edition of the festival, founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini, will open with a tribute to great Italian cinema and the screening of Bernardo Bertolucci’s masterpiece 1900, followed by the U.S. premiere of Anna, the film on Anna Magnani directed by and starring Monica Guerritore.
In the following days, the festival will present screenings, meetings with artists and industry figures, special events, and celebrations dedicated to the excellence of Italian culture, further strengthening the role of the festival as a major bridge between Italian cinema and the Hollywood industry during Awards Season.
