RICCARDO COCCIANTE ARRIVED AT “LA, ITALIA 2026” WITH TWO RAI DOCU-MUSICALS CELEBRATING MUSIC, MEMORY AND ITALIAN IDENTITY IN HOLLYWOOD

From pop music to grand opera, the extraordinary artistic journey of Riccardo Cocciante arrived in Hollywood thanks to Rai Documentari, with the documentary “Il mio nome è Riccardo Cocciante” presented during the LA, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre.

Directed by Stefano Salvati, the film retraced the remarkable career of the Italo-French singer-songwriter, celebrating more than five decades of music and the enduring legacy of one of the most distinctive voices of Italian songwriting. The documentary followed Cocciante’s path from his early successes in pop music to the international triumph of his compositions and theatrical works, highlighting the creative energy that made him a global symbol of Italian musical excellence.

Through archival footage, testimonies and memorable performances, the film explored the artistic evolution of a musician capable of moving effortlessly between genres and cultures, from the intimacy of his most beloved songs to the monumental success of musical theatre, including works such as “Notre-Dame de Paris”, which achieved worldwide acclaim.

Presented in Hollywood, the documentary celebrated Cocciante’s extraordinary contribution to Italian and international music, offering audiences a portrait of an artist whose emotional intensity, powerful voice and timeless melodies have shaped generations of listeners across the world.

Founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini, LA, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival was organized by the Istituto Capri nel Mondo with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture, under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo, KPMG and Rainbow, and with the participation of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles, the Italian Cultural Institute, and the Italian Trade Agency. The festival was chaired by Raffaella De Laurentiis and Filippo Puglisi-Alibrandi.
