PIO AND AMEDEO RETURN WITH THEIR DIRECTORIAL DEBUT “OI VITA MIA” AT THE 21ST EDITION OF THE ITALIAN FESTIVAL IN HOLLYWOOD ON THE EVE OF THE OSCARS

ROME, 12 FEB. – Italian box-office champions Pio e Amedeo will bring their irreverent comedy to Hollywood with “Oi Vita Mia”, selected in the program of the 21st edition of the Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival, set to unfold March 8 to 14 at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre, on the eve of Oscar Night. The screening confirms the Festival’s commitment to showcasing the full spectrum of contemporary Italian cinema, from auteur-driven works to popular hits capable of conquering wide audiences, under the banner of a cultural bridge between Italy and the United States.

Produced by Pascal Vicedomini for the Capri in the World Institute, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture (MIC), the patronage of MAECI and MIMIT, and in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo, Rainbow and Givova, the Festival once again embraces films that combine entertainment with social reflection. With “Oi Vita Mia”, Pio e Amedeo return to the big screen with their unmistakable mix of satire, provocation and sharp observations on contemporary Italy, blending regional roots with universal themes that resonate beyond national borders.

Known for transforming politically incorrect humor into a tool for social commentary, the duo continues to explore contradictions, prejudices and generational tensions through a narrative that balances comedy and emotion. Their presence in Hollywood underlines how Italian popular comedy—when supported by strong writing and recognizable characters—can travel internationally while maintaining its cultural specificity.

The screening of “Oi Vita Mia” fits into a program that celebrates Italian creativity in all its forms, from cinema to fashion and music, reinforcing the Festival’s historic mission of promoting Italian excellence during Awards Season week in Los Angeles. The 21st edition is chaired by producer Raffaella De Laurentiis with Filippo Puglisi Alibrandi, carrying forward a tradition founded by Lina Wertmüller and Pascal Vicedomini, and continuing to strengthen the dialogue between Hollywood and Italy’s vibrant film industry.
