Maestro Pupi Avati’s latest film, “The American Backyard”, will have its U.S. premiere on February 23 at the 20th edition of the LA, Italia – Film, Fashion and Arts Festival. Partly shot in the United States, the film debuted at the Venice Film Festival and is based on Avati’s gothic novel of the same name. Set during Italy’s Liberation and the post-war Midwest, the story follows a young Italian man who moves to America in search of a woman he loves, only to encounter a chilling mystery.
The movie features a stellar cast, including Filippo Scotti, Roberto De Francesco, Chiara Caselli, and Rita Tushingham. Produced by Duea Film, Minerva Pictures, and Rai Cinema, with 01 Distribution handling its release, The American Backyard showcases Avati’s masterful storytelling and is among the highlights of this year’s festival.
