ITALIAN BOX-OFFICE CHAMPIONS BY ZALONE, PIO & AMEDEO, AND MILANI PRESENTED AT THE 21ST EDITION OF LA, ITALY 2026

ROME, FEB. 6 – Major Italian box-office comedy hits will also energize the program of the 21st edition of Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival, taking place March 8–14 at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre. From “Buen Camino” starring Checco Zalone, directed by Gennaro Nunziante, to “Oi Vita” written, directed by, and starring Pio and Amedeo, and “La vita va così” by Riccardo Milani, the undisputed protagonists of the current cinematic season will arrive in Hollywood, reaffirming the Festival’s mission to represent all facets of Italian cinema—as envisioned by the late honorary presidents Lina Wertmüller and Marina Cicogna, together with longtime friends Tony Renis and Franco Nero, alongside founder Pascal Vicedomini.
Thus, the works of Checco Zalone, Pio and Amedeo, and Riccardo Milani will land in Hollywood—voices of an identity-driven comedy that blends social satire with a universal language, continuing to resonate beyond national borders.

“The participation of the most successful comedies fits into the cultural journey of Los Angeles, Italia, which has always paired auteur cinema with the most representative works of the industry, offering American and international audiences a complete and contemporary view of Italian production,” says Vicedomini.

Opening the Festival on March 8 will be the U.S. premiere of “Anna,” written, directed, and performed by Monica Guerritore—a special event inaugurating a particularly significant edition on the eve of Oscar Night (Sunday, March 15), already drawing the attention of international media.

Los Angeles, Italia 2026, chaired by producer Raffaella De Laurentiis with Filippo Puglisi Alibrandi, is promoted by the Istituto Capri nel Mondo under the patronage of the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale and the Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy, in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo and Rainbow, and with the participation of the Consolato Generale d’Italia and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Los Angeles.

Alongside in-person events, the Festival also confirms its digital program on eventive.org, open to filmmakers worldwide with feature films, shorts, and documentaries, strengthening Los Angeles, Italia as an international platform for dialogue, discovery, and the promotion of cinema.
