LOS ANGELES, ITALY 2026 IN THE MYTH OF ANNA MAGNANI, SUNDAY, MARCH 8 – “ANNA” BY MONICA GUERRITORE AT THE TCL CHINESE THEATRE

ROME, FEB. 1 – The legend of Anna Magnani will come alive again in Hollywood during the 21st Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival, which celebrates a year of milestone anniversaries in the history of Italian and international cinema: the 70th anniversary of the Academy Award for Best Actress, won by Anna Magnani for The Rose Tattoo by Daniel Mann (1956), and the 80th anniversary of Rome, Open City by Roberto Rossellini, an absolute masterpiece of Neorealism, first presented at the Cannes Film Festival.

The celebrations, promoted by the Capri in the World Institute, will take place from March 8 to 14, on the eve of Oscar Night (Sunday, March 15), and will be hosted at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, symbolically marking the launch of a special edition of Los Angeles, Italia, widely covered by international media.

Opening the Festival will be the U.S. premiere of the film Anna, written, directed, and performed by Monica Guerritore, a powerful and contemporary tribute to one of the greatest icons in the history of world cinema.

Los Angeles, Italia 2026, chaired by producer Raffaella De Laurentiis together with Filippo Puglisi Alibrandi, is promoted under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo, and with the participation of the Italian Consulate General and the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles. The Festival continues to serve as a cultural bridge between Italy and the United States and stands as one of the most authoritative international events dedicated to Italian cinema worldwide.

Alongside its in-person program, the Festival also includes a digital edition hosted on the platform eventive.org, open to filmmakers from around the world, who may submit feature films, short films, documentaries, and works of all genres, further expanding international access and participation.

Los Angeles, Italia was founded by Pascal Vicedomini, together with Lina Wertmüller, Marina Cicogna, and Tony Renis, and over the years has established itself as a major celebration of Italian culture, supporting Italian Oscar contenders and honoring legends of American and international cinema.
