SORRENTO – With the closing of the Sorrento Film and Food Festival, the route towards Hollywood ideally opens, at the heart of Awards Season. Marking this transition is Raffaella De Laurentiis, producer and president of the Los Angeles Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival, who announces the 21st edition of the event, scheduled from March 8 to 14 at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, on the eve of the Academy Awards.

The Californian festival comes at the end of a journey which, as De Laurentiis emphasizes, runs through the main Italian platforms for international film promotion: Ischia Global, Capri Hollywood and Sorrento.
“Ischia, Capri, Sorrento and now Hollywood: Italian excellence is awaited at the most important moment of the awards season,” she states.

In a context in which California is experiencing increasingly fierce competition for major international recognitions, cultural events also take on a strategic role. Within this framework lies Capri Hollywood, which has just concluded and, through its awards, has helped to foster dialogue between European cinema and the American industry.

According to De Laurentiis, the value of the Los Angeles Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival also lies in the vision of its founder, Pascal Vicedomini.
“Vicedomini had a brilliant and concrete intuition: to create a stable bridge between Italy and California precisely at the hottest moment of Awards Season,” she notes. “A project that allows artists, artisans, creatives and entrepreneurs of both big and small screens to have an officially recognized presence in the heart of global cinema.”

The festival thus confirms itself as a platform of cultural diplomacy, capable of promoting not only cinema, but also music, fashion, art and food and wine—traditional protagonists of the pre-Oscar week in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival is promoted by the Capri in the World Institute, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the participation of Intesa Sanpaolo, the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the collaboration of the Consulate General of Italy in California and the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles.

The event is set for March 8–14 in Hollywood, while the journey of Italian excellence continues, from Italy to California, at the heart of awards season.
