The Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival is now open for submissions on FilmFreeway, inviting filmmakers from around the world to enter their original works for consideration in the official competition taking place March 8–14, 2026 in Hollywood, California. This prestigious annual event — now in its 21st edition — celebrates Italian motion pictures, fashion, art, music and cultural excellence on the global stage and is held annually right before the Academy Awards® week in the heart of Los Angeles at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
Over the years, this contest has attracted a growing number of talented entrants, with filmmakers from around the globe submitting shorts, medium-length films and feature-length projects eager to be part of this dynamic festival experience. Filmmakers who have already entered represent a vibrant, diverse range of voices and styles — and you can join them with your work!
The festival competition accepts Feature films (over 60 minutes), Medium films (20–59 minutes) and Short films (under 20 minutes), all of which must be original works not previously screened in other local festivals. Selected films will enjoy worldwide free streaming access during the festival via the Eventive platform, gaining exposure to international audiences and industry professionals alike. All selected entries receive the official Los Angeles, Italia “Laurel” for promotional use, and winners in each category will be honored with awards decided by the festival’s Academy Scientific Board — a jury composed of renowned industry figures with deep roots in cinema, art and culture.
Technical and promotional materials — including a pressbook, stills, and a trailer — are required at submission, and all non-English works must include English subtitles. Submission deadlines include regular, late and extended dates — with standard entry currently available for free or a modest fee depending on timing and membership status.
