PRODUCER TRUDIE STYLER RECEIVED “LA, ITALIA PEOPLE AWARD” FOR HER HUMANITARIAN COMMITMENT

NAPLES, 8 March 2024 – Trudie Styler and Andrea Iervolino were awarded with “LA, Italia – People Award 2024” for their commitment respectively in favor of the indigenous populations of the Amazon (with the Rainforest Foundation created by Styler together with husband Sting) and, in the case of the Italian-Canadian producer, for the benefit of the valorization of African realities through the creation and personal direction of the documentaries “Discovery Tanzania” and “The Tracker” for the Tatatu platform.
The awards ceremony, scheduled at the Italian Cultural Institute, coincides with the Gala organized at the end of the 19th Los Angeles Italia Festival, promoted with MiC (DG Cinema) and Intesa Sanpaolo on the occasion of International Women’s Day with the intervention and an award also Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino, directors Rory Kennedy, Ilaria Borrelli and Michelle Danner and actress Madalina Ghenea.
Raffaella Valentini (Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles) and the producer Raffaella De Laurentiis (Chairperson of LA, Italy) together with the Director of the IIC Emanuele Amendola who welcomed the winners together with the other artists of the official delegation of the Festival founded by Pascal Vicedomini and made with Riflessi, Givova, ILBE and WWPS: the directors Edoardo De Angelis (welcomed by a retrospective of his films), Dennis Dellai (whose film 800 days was very successful), Brando De Sica (whose film “ Mimì, the prince of darkness” is expected for tomorrow) together with the actor and producer Luca Barbareschi (tomorrow the US premiere of The Penitent), the actors Francesco Mandelli (with the US preview of “I soliti idioti 2”), Luca Riemma (with the world premiere of “The Italians” by Danner) and Edoardo Costa (with the world premiere of The Island).
The preview of the miniseries “Mameli” is highly anticipated for tomorrow at the conclusion of the event also promoted with the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.
