“CANDIDO” BRINGS A FUTURE LOVE STORY TO HOLLYWOOD AT LA, ITALIA 2026 — GIORGIO CLEMENTELLI’S FILM EXPLORES TIME, TECHNOLOGY AND A LIFE-LONG MARRIAGE

LOS ANGELES — The short film “Candido,” directed by Giorgio Clementelli, was presented in Hollywood during the 21st edition of LA, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival, bringing to the international stage a poetic and reflective story set in a near future shaped by technology and memory.

Set in the year 2049, the film follows Candido, a seventy-nine-year-old man who has spent fifty years married to Serena, the love of his life. Despite feeling like an “analog” man in an increasingly digital world, Candido finds himself forced to adapt to new technological tools that are gradually transforming everyday life.

Starring Giorgio Colangeli, Imma Piro, Silvia Morigi and Leila Clementelli, the film blends intimacy, irony and emotional reflection, exploring how technology reshapes human relationships while leaving untouched the deeper bonds that define a lifetime shared together.

With cinematography by Gianluca Mastronardi, music by legendary composer Fabio Frizzi, production design by Fabrizio Buzzini and costumes by Giorgia Giannini, the film creates a delicate portrait of love, aging and the quiet resistance of those who struggle to keep pace with a rapidly changing world.

The presentation of “Candido” at LA, Italia 2026 highlighted the festival’s commitment to showcasing new Italian voices and innovative storytelling, bringing diverse cinematic perspectives to Hollywood during the week leading up to the Academy Awards.

Founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini, LA, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival is promoted by the Istituto Capri nel Mondo with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture, under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo, KPMG and Rainbow, and with the participation of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles, ICE – Italian Trade Agency, and the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles.
