LOS ANGELES — The film “Zoe” was presented in Hollywood during the 21st edition of LA, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival, bringing to international audiences a whimsical and emotionally reflective story about self-discovery, love and the search for happiness.
At the center of the story is Zoe, an Italian woman who appears to have everything that should make her life perfect, yet she feels deeply unsatisfied. During Mardi Gras, a mysterious little boy dressed as a wizard unexpectedly grants her a magical opportunity: three chances to live the life she has always imagined. If she fails to discover what truly makes her happy, she will remain bound to him forever.
Over the course of three extraordinary days, Zoe suddenly finds herself living three completely different lives in Ibiza, London and Paris, experiencing new environments, new relationships and different versions of herself. Each city becomes a new emotional landscape where she explores alternative paths her life could have taken, confronting desires, fears and unexpected possibilities.
Through these surreal experiences, the film blends fantasy and introspection, turning Zoe’s journey into a metaphor for the universal question of “what if?”. While the lives she encounters are not exactly what she had imagined, each experience brings her closer to understanding who she truly is.
By reconnecting with her inner child and rediscovering a balance between body, mind and spirit, Zoe ultimately realizes that the answers she was searching for were never in distant cities or imagined lives, but within herself. When she returns home from this magical adventure, she begins to look at her world with new eyes—only to encounter the little wizard once again, suggesting that the magic surrounding her life may be far greater than she ever expected.
Presented as part of the program of LA, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival in Los Angeles, the film reflects the festival’s commitment to showcasing stories that blend imagination, emotion and personal transformation, bringing contemporary international narratives to Hollywood audiences during the week leading up to the Academy Awards.
