LOS ANGELES, 28th FEB – Italy has not won an Oscar for a while but it brings nominees good luck. This is proven by the fact that ‘Rome International Film Festival’, ‘Capri, Hollywood’ and ‘Los Angeles, Italia’ always present Oscar winning films. Last edition of RIFF featured three films that last Sunday totaled 5 Oscars: “Inside Job” by Charles Ferguson, winner in the Best Documentary category; “The Social Network” that earned three awards (Best Editing; Best Music Score; Best screenplay) and “In a better world”, helmed by Danish director Susanne Bier, who won the Oscar for the Best Foreign Film. Some days before the Oscar Night, Susanne Bier, had also received an award at the Los Angeles, Italia Festival, organized in Hollywood by Italian producer Pascal Vicedomini whereas at the twin festival of Capri, held on the eve of New Year’s day, Oscar winner Melissa Leo had received the Best actress of the year award.
